Artists, performers, designers, and community groups are invited to propose interactive projects, workshops, performances, and other initiatives that bring Macau’s public spaces to life:

  • Join a city-wide program of performances, workshops, exhibitions, and culinary moments — all shaped by local voices and collective imagination;

Requirements

The Open Call for Placemaking Activities is open to:

The submission deadline is November 14, 2025, at 23:59 Macau Local Time (GMT+8).
  • Artists, designers, performers, educators, and other creative professionals;
  • Community groups, cultural organizations, and interdisciplinary teams.

Applicants must be locally based, holding one of the following valid identification documents:

  • Macau Resident Identity Card (Permanent or Non- Permanent);
  • Foreign Worker Identification Card (Blue Card); or
  • Student Card issued to foreign students enrolled in local schools or universities.

Proposals may include, but are not limited to, the following types of activities:

  • Public performances (music, theatre, dance, etc.);
  • Creative or educational workshops;
  • Mobile exhibitions or pop-up installations;
  • Food and cultural stalls featuring thematic programming or locally made cultural products;
  • Urban games, participatory mapping, or other interactive experiences.

Criteria

  • Creativity and originality;
  • Feasibility and clarity of execution;
  • Community relevance and inclusivity;
  • Alignment with the Biennale’s placemaking goals;
  • Potential for public impact and legacy.
